Our clients are also patients from abroad. These are both Latvians living abroad and residents of other countries. We have summarized the most important aspects to know and to take into account, if you plan a surgery but don’t live in Latvia on a permanent basis.

How long will I have to stay in Latvia?

For large scale surgeries (breast correction, cosmetic facial or abdominal surgery) you will have to spend at least 14 days in Latvia. During this time, you will meet a doctor during individual appointment, perform required tests and check-ups before the surgery (if you have not done them in your country of residence), and will undergo the surgery itself with plenty of time for all bandaging and suture removal procedures. This is the minimum amount of time required to professionally manage the whole process in due quality to ensure successful and safe result – time for consultations, surgery and recovery so that you can safely return to your home country.

Eyelid correction surgeries (blepharoplasty) require at least 8 days – you can fly home after we remove the sutures on the 8th day. If you wish to go to your home country and remove sutures there, you can do it on the next day after surgery. Our clinic undertakes full responsibility for the performed surgery, and we supervise the initial after-surgery period (the hardest one) till the end, while ensuring a careful and attentive control and management during this time. That is why we recommend on staying in Latvia for at least 8 days after surgery.

n and again for the surgery. If you have booked a surgery, the doctor will personally see you after working hours –no later than 1 day before the surgery (in case of breast or stomach surgery; in case of eyelid surgery the patients see the doctor on the day of the surgery). During this meeting you will talk, measure and plan all details particularly for you.

Is it possible to have an online consultation?

Yes, of course. To book an online consultation with the surgeon, please contact clinic's administration via phone (+371) 20385822 or e-mail info@aesthetica.lv. Please specify the desired surgery, preferable surgeon and leave your phone number so we can contact you.

If I wish to come for the consultation and decide on the surgery only after it, how much time will it take from consultation to surgery?

It depends on the number of bookings at the particular time. On average it takes around 3 months, however, to know for sure, you should contact the doctors assistant via phone (+371) 20385822 or e-mail info@aesthetica.lv

What tests/check-ups are required before the surgery? Where I can undergo them?

You can read about preparing for the surgery here: https://bit.ly/2TNqoBX

Doctor’s assistant will tell you about the individually required check-ups and send you a list via e-mail. You can undergo the required tests/check-ups in your home country, if the results of the general check-ups (appointment with the gynaecologist, lung check-up, ultrasonography or mammography for breasts) are provided in English language. If you are unable to take the tests or health check-ups in your home country, tell us in advance and we will help you to have all of the required check-ups and tests in Latvia.

If I have any concerns after I return home, whom can I ask for help?

A nurse will be with the patient during the whole recovery and post-surgery period with supervision of our plastic surgeons. If any concerns arise, you will be able to contact the nurse via phone or e-mail, or even by sending a message or a picture via WhatsApp!

Can I have a sick leave certificate or doctors note about the surgery, if I work abroad?

We provide every patient with a clinic transcript about the performed manipulation. If necessary, we can also issue the document in English to confirm that a particular person has undergone a surgery in our clinic, as well as to provide information about work or physical load restrictions for a particular period of time. We also issue sick leave certificates for 10 days and, depending on the employer’s requirements, we can provide this document in original language or translated in the required language with notary approval.
