Dental Implantology
At Aesthetica Clinic, we offer high-quality dental implantology services performed by Dr. Darja Sorokina, an experienced dental surgeon and implantologist.
- What is a dental implant? A dental implant is a modern solution for tooth replacement. A dental implant is a titanium or zirconium screw that is inserted into the jawbone, topped with a crown, and serves as a replacement for a natural tooth.
- When is a dental implant placed? Dental implants are placed when one or more teeth are missing, or when a tooth is decayed, broken, or beyond repair, or when the patient already has a removable denture that is uncomfortable or does not fit well in the mouth.
- How is dental implantation performed? Implantation is usually performed under local anesthesia, and the implant is mechanically screwed into the jawbone. Three to six months after placement, a crown can be attached to the implant.
- What are the restrictions after dental implantation? For 1–2 weeks after implant placement, you should avoid physical activity; you must not go to the sauna, sunbathe, or drink alcohol, and smoking can negatively affect the healing process and increase the risk of complications.
- How long do dental implants last? With good oral hygiene and regular dental check-ups, dental implants can last a lifetime.
Immediate dental implantation
A broken or damaged tooth can be replaced immediately after extraction, right at that very moment. This is called immediate implantation. If a tooth is extracted, it must be replaced immediately, as failure to do so can lead to bite problems and damage to adjacent teeth due to migration. The best way to replace a missing tooth today is with a dental implant. An implant is a small titanium screw that is placed in the jawbone and serves as a support for a prosthetic structure that replaces one, several, or a row of teeth. However, an implant can only be placed if there is sufficient bone and soft tissue volume at the site of the extracted tooth. By extracting a tooth and immediately placing an implant in the fresh wound at the same time, the volume of bone and soft tissue is preserved. Additionally, one of the greatest benefits of immediate implantation is the reduction in the number of visits, time, and financial costs. Dental implantation is not a long or complicated process and is performed under local anesthesia.
