MonaLisa Touch procedure

Laser Therapy with MonaLisa Touch – Vaginal Firmness Restoration

MonaLisa Touch is an innovative treatment method using CO2 laser light energy. The laser stimulates the regeneration of collagen and elastin fibers and helps improve vaginal firmness and elasticity, contributing to the quality of a woman’s intimate life.

How does MonaLisa Touch work?

MonaLisa Touch laser therapy uses a CO2 laser beam that safely and effectively stimulates the collagen and elastin fibers in the vaginal tissues, promoting their regeneration. Laser energy improves blood circulation, increases vaginal tissue hydration, and restores their natural elasticity and firmness. As a result, women can regain comfort in the vaginal area, improving both physical and emotional well-being.

Advantages of the procedure:

Safe and minimally invasive – MonaLisa Touch is a non-surgical, quick, and painless procedure that does not require a long recovery time.

Immediate results – after just a few sessions, patients often experience improvements in firmness, elasticity and hydration.

No downtime is required – women can return to their daily activities after the procedure.

Natural regeneration – stimulates natural tissue regeneration without harming healthy tissue.

In what situations is MonaLisa Touch therapy suitable?

MonaLisa Touch is especially recommended for:

menopausal or premenopausal women who suffer from vaginal dryness, itching or discomfort due to hormonal changes;

postpartum, when vaginal tissues have lost sensitivity and tone due to overstretching;

women who complain of mild to moderate stress urinary incontinence – involuntary leakage of urine when coughing, sneezing, laughing, running or jumping;

for women who are not suitable for or contraindicated for local hormone therapy (e.g., oncology patients after treatment);

for women who want to improve the quality of their sexual life.

During and after the procedure

The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis in a doctor's office. It is painless, no anesthesia or general anesthesia is required. The doctor inserts a special device tip into the vagina, through which a laser beam is directed to the vaginal walls, which treats the mucous membrane, safely and effectively stimulating the collagen and elastin fibers in the vaginal tissues and promoting their regeneration. The sensations are usually minimal - a slight feeling of warmth or tingling. The procedure lasts about 10 minutes. There may be mild discomfort after the procedure, similar to after a gynecological examination. Daily activities can be resumed immediately, but it is recommended to avoid sexual activity and water procedures (baths, pools, swimming) for 2-3 days after the procedure.

MonaLisa Touch procedure course

For a long-lasting and lasting effect, technology developers and researchers recommend a course of procedures:

the course consists of 3 procedures with an interval of 4-6 weeks;

then - 1 maintenance procedure once a year.

after the first time, many patients feel relief and a decrease in symptoms.

Possible side effects

MonaLisa Touch is considered a safe procedure if performed by an appropriately trained and experienced specialist. The risks of the procedure are minimal. Possible side effects (usually transient, mild and affect <5-10% of patients):

slight redness or swelling;

a feeling of warmth or dryness for a few days;

slight increase in discharge 1-2 days after the procedure;

rarely – fever-like feeling in the first 24 hours after the procedure;

very rarely – urinary tract irritation or cystitis, transient menstrual cycle disorders

MonaLisa Touch compared to other procedures/therapies

Hormonal therapy (local estrogens): effectively restores the mucosa, but is not safe for all women (for example, after hormone-sensitive breast cancer).

MonaLisa Touch: does not contain hormones, therefore it is a safe alternative for women for whom hormone therapy is not recommended.

However, for women in menopause, the combination of laser therapy with hormonal treatment is very effective, as both methods can complement each other.

Injection therapy with hyaluronic acid: effectively moisturizes the mucosa, but an individual reaction to the filler is possible, there is a risk of inflammation or bleeding after injections.

MonaLisa Touch: The effect on the mucosa is wider and more even, there is no risk of allergy or intolerance.

Injection therapy with activated plasma (PRP): the procedure is relatively painful and repeated procedures are definitely required for a good effect.

MonaLisa Touch: a practically painless treatment method with a very high-quality outcome.

There are other similar energy-based methods, such as radiofrequency and erbium laser technology (“IntimaLase”), but MonaLisa Touch is one of the most studied and clinically tested procedures.
